The Alexander Capelluto Foundation was established in memory of Alex Capelluto, a rising junior at Yale who was struck and killed by a truck in May 2006, as he was riding his bicycle back from crew practice, days before starting out on a 4,000 mile cross-country bicycle ride to benefit Habitat for Humanity. He was 20 years old.
The Foundation's goal is to support young men and women in their pursuit of excellence and their development as active, engaged citizens of the world.
